With the temperature expected to reach 90 degrees today in middle Tennessee, it's not feeling much like fall, on this first day of fall. One trip to the grocery store and my mind quickly reminds me that fall, Halloween and Thanksgiving are in our future. Time to turn some attention to fall décor.
Let me be honest, I don't think much is going to happen with this mantle for this 2017 fall season. I've discussed this before. We've only got 18 inches of clearance above the mantle before the unusual box that juts out and runs to the ceiling. That eye sore is definitely a project on the long list, but because we know that space involves functioning fireplace components, I'm not sure when we will tackle the mantle revision.
Despite our mantle situation, I still enjoy dreaming about fall decor the mantle, but have also decided that if I can't style the mantle, maybe I should tackle the hearth?!??. Here are some of my favorite fall fireplace ideas:
