Red Wing Part 2, Client Project: Mudroom, Steps, and Doors

We closed out 2017 working with a client to update several spaces in their home. Spaces that included the family's bonus room, which we recently revealed, along with the connecting mudroom, mudroom steps and doors in both spaces.

1. The Mudroom: The client's wish to have uniform floors between these spaces was a wish that was easily accomplished!

2. Steps: They wanted to clean up the mudroom steps which were worn and tired, and covered with indoor/outdoor carpet.

2. Doors: We took a very strange door in the bonus room and made it disappear. This door awkwardly swung open into the formal dining room and wasn't practical. We tried to talk through several scenarios of why you might want a door swinging open into the dining room, but couldn't come up with anything logical. Soooooo weird dinning room door, bye-bye!

Another door that needed attention was the door between the mudroom and the bonus room. 1. It was outdated and 2. The swing negatively impacted the mudroom. They thought a sliding barn door could remedy these concerns. After all, a sliding barn door would 1. Provide some privacy 2. Have no impact on floor space 3. Would create a conversation piece for the spaces. The family put in their request for the barn door style and stain and Jason went to work!
